According to the Algarve Regional Command of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC), a blaze that ignited around 12:15 PM is advancing with extreme intensity due to strong winds in the area.
The fire is spreading across brush and pine forest near the locality of Bordeira, in the municipality of Aljezur, with no homes reported to be at risk at this time, according to the source.
Approximately 200 firefighters from various departments in the Algarve and Alentejo, supported by 53 vehicles and 10 aerial units, have been deployed to combat the fire, the source added.
