The organization of Rock in Rio Febras estimated today that about five thousand people passed through the festival, which took place on Saturday, in the parish of Briteiros São Salvador, in Guimarães, making a very positive balance.

Land that once gave potatoes and vegetables consecrated Rock in Rio Febras today
Speaking to the Lusa agency, Vasco Marques, president of Casa do Povo de Briteiros, Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS) that organizes the event, explained that, throughout the day, around five thousand people passed through the enclosure, adding that the peak of affluence occurred at 22:00, when they would be on site between 3,600 to 3,700 festival-goers.
Of the four thousand free online passes that sold out in a few hours, Vasco Marques said that 85% of these reservations were exchanged on the spot for bracelets, but, he stressed, without a ticket more than a thousand people showed up to attend the festival that reached national dimension after Rock in Rio Lisboa notified Rock in Rio Febras to change its name, alleging misuse of the brand and unfair competition.
According to the president of the Casa do Povo de Briteiros, the organization was controlling the entrances and exits of the enclosure and, as soon as it verified that it was possible, it delivered bracelets to those without the ‘online’ reservation, thus allowing them access to the enclosure.
In the first edition of Rock in Rio Febras, held in 2022, around 1,500 people passed through the venue throughout the day.
The organization makes a “very positive assessment” of the event, revealing that, both from the bands and the festival-goers, it has received “very good feedback”.
“It was a very good thing. We were a bit afraid of some things, but our concerns turned out to be theoretical. In practice, everything went well, there was no record of any incident and we had three weeks to organize all this. We make a very, very positive balance”, said Vasco Marques.
As for the revenue, which will be used for social purposes linked to the Casa do Povo de Briteiros, “it was much higher than last year”, but the organization recalls that the expenses and costs inherent in an event of this size are also much higher.
Vasco Marques explained that there was a need, in three weeks, to hire “a series of services and things” that were not foreseen, stressing that the short time they had to solve several issues meant that costs also increased.
“The only thing that was below our expectations was the final profit. Not because of the revenue, but because of a lot of costs inherent to the organization in such a short time. We are talking about security, toilets, emergency and safety plans. It was not foreseen. These are growing pains,” he said.
As for the date of next year’s edition, it will be revealed in the coming days, with the guarantee that the festival will always take place near the banks of the Febras River.
In the coming days the organization will also put to vote on social networks three or four hypotheses for Internet users to choose the future name of Rock in Rio Febras.
