A 37-year-old individual of Portuguese-Angolan nationality has been arrested in Braga for sexually abusing his two underage daughters, resulting in the pregnancy of the older daughter.
In a statement released to Notícias ao Minuto, the Judiciary Police (PJ) disclosed that the investigation commenced on September 8, following a positive pregnancy test taken by the suspect’s elder daughter.
At that time, the girl confided the incidents to a close relative, identifying her father as the perpetrator, which led to the filing of a police complaint.
In the following days, the facts were reported to the PJ in Braga, who promptly initiated various investigative procedures.
Evidence was gathered that substantiates the allegations made in the complaint, and it was further discovered that there was another victim, the younger sister.
According to investigators, the accused will be presented at the Judicial Court of Ponte de Lima for an initial judicial hearing, where appropriate pre-trial measures will be determined.
