“Miramar III” will be released on October 3 and will be presented in Lisbon on the 21st at Casa Capitão, and in Porto on the 22nd at Casa da Música, as stated by the duo’s management in a communication released today.
The third installment of “a story told by two, where departures and returns are part of an endless journey simulated over time,” is described by the musicians as “an album of memories,” differing in nature from their previous works.
“In ‘Miramar III’ the memories indeed persist in the same space, which is now inhabited. There are visits, noise, neighbors, interferences, … possible sequels — such as the track ‘I’m Leaving — Cap. II’, a follow-up to ‘I’m Leaving’, included in the group’s first album,” the statement reads.
Miramar is also the name of the beach south of Porto where Frankie Chavez and Peixe took refuge in 2017 to work on songs for the series of concerts Guitarras ao Alto, in Alentejo, designed for unprecedented guitar duos. Months later, they replicated this work in a studio, resulting in the first eponymous album, released in 2019.
Later, they returned to Miramar to record their second album together, “Miramar II”, released in January 2022, featuring pianist Mário Laginha and percussionist Serginho as guests.
In addition to the presentation concerts, the duo also has performances scheduled in Torres Vedras, at Teatro-cine on September 27, and in Torres Novas, on November 28 at the Black Box of Central do Caldeirão.
