Slow J, Bárbara Tinoco, Fogo Fogo, David Bruno and Maro are some of the artists who will be in September at Festival F, which brings together culture and nature in the historic center of Faro.
“Every year we try to draw an X-ray of what Portuguese music is today, of all styles, dimensions and several generations,” Vasco Sacramento, co-producer of the festival, told Lusa on the sidelines of the poster presentation in Lisbon.
The eighth edition is scheduled from September 7 to 9 and will feature concerts, gatherings, gastronomy and the participation of more than 60 artists.
At the presentation in Lisbon, the mayor of Faro, Rogério Bacalhau, underlined the idea of “celebrating Portuguese music”, in a historical and natural setting, due to its proximity to the Ria Formosa.
On September 7, city day, performances are expected from D. A. M. A., Calema, Slow J, Maro, Mimicat, Supa Squad, Buruntuma, Clube Makumba and Eu.Clides.
On the second day, between electronica, pop and fado, Mariza, Bispo, Jafumega, David Bruno, Tó Trips and You Can’t Win Charlie Brown take the stage.
On the third and final day, Pedro Abrunhosa, Bárbara Tinoco, Plutónio, Ricardo Ribeiro, Fogo Fogo, Silk Nobre, Noiserv and José Pinhal Post Mortem Experience will take the stage.
According to Vasco Sacramento, one of this year’s novelties is a stage for ‘jam sessions’.
“As it’s late summer, the festival often acts as a meeting point. Collaborations between artists have already been born in the F dressing rooms. This year we will have a stage with ‘jam sessions’ to take that spirit deeper,” he said.
The maximum capacity of the festival, which brings together natural, historical, musical and industrial heritage, is once again set at 24,000 people.
Festival F is an initiative of Faro City Council, in co-production with Sons em Trânsito.
