In a statement, the GNR reported identifying a 50-year-old man and filing a report for the crimes of counterfeiting, imitation, illegal use of a trademark, and drug trafficking.
Additionally, the officers drafted an administrative offense report for irregular introduction to consumption.
The Fiscal Action Unit, through the Fiscal Action Detachment of Faro, seized 174 counterfeit items, 857 milliliters of liquid tobacco without a tax stamp, and 10 individual doses of cannabis in Vilamoura on Wednesday, according to the report.
The operation took place as part of inspections targeted at commercial establishments in the beach resort of Loulé, according to the GNR officers.
The GNR stated that the value of the seized products amounts to 5,614 euros, and their illegal sale would have resulted in a financial loss to the state exceeding 1,290 euros.
