Three men, aged 24, 26, and 31, have been detained to serve sentences of five years and eight months, six years and five months, and six months, respectively, for drug trafficking offenses.
“Following several inquiries and the efforts of police officers, the convicted individuals from a 2022 drug trafficking arrest were located,” the police force stated in a communiqué sent to Lusa agency.
The PSP’s District Command of Leiria noted, “At the time, the detainees were placed in pre-trial detention; however, after the maximum period, they were released.”
With the final judicial decision reached on June 3, the Leiria Judicial Court issued arrest and detention warrants.
The detainees have been taken to the Leiria Prison Facility to serve their respective sentences.
