Three men, aged between 33 and 42 years, confronted an off-duty GNR officer, leading to a brief altercation during an ongoing fair around 4 a.m., a source from the Évora Territorial Command of the GNR disclosed.
The incident was subsequently quelled by on-duty GNR officers present at the scene, resulting in the arrest of the three individuals.
The GNR source further stated that the off-duty officer sustained some head injuries and was taken to Évora Hospital for examination.
Following the incident, another GNR officer experienced minor facial abrasions but did not require medical attention.
