As of 12:30 PM, according to the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), 108 personnel remained on-site, supported by 35 vehicles and four aerial units.
Due to the proximity to the Spanish border, a Spanish aerial unit participated in combating the flames today.
The resolution of the fire was aided by the weak wind conditions.
Three Portuguese firefighters were injured while fighting the blaze, with one suffering severe burns on the legs and transported by helicopter to Vila Nova de Gaia Hospital.
The other two sustained minor injuries. One was treated at the Basic Emergency Service of Montalegre Health Center as a precaution, while the other, the deputy commander of the Montalegre fire department, was taken to the Hospital of Chaves.
