SODIAM, the National Diamond Trading Company, announced in a press release that viewing sessions will take place from September 30 to October 7, with the bidding process closing on October 8 at 10:00 am local time.

The auction, organized in collaboration with TRANS ATLANTIC GEM SALES, targets clients registered in SODIAM’s database with expertise in marketing special stones, it states.

The lot of 36 special stones is subdivided into 18 from Catoca, six from Kaixepa, five from Lulo, three from Chitololo, two from Somiluana, one from Calonda, and one from Mussende.

The statement highlights that this is the fifteenth rough diamond auction organized by SODIAM since 2019, with the last held in June this year.

In 2024, SODIAM exported approximately 10.2 million carats of rough diamonds valued at about $1.48 billion (€1.2 billion), at an average price of $145 per carat, positioning Angola as the third-largest producer of rough diamonds in terms of value worldwide.
