The second edition of the Public Policy Debate Competition, an initiative by Nova SBE that brings together university student teams nationwide for a debate contest, will award the winners with a prize of 10,000 euros.
In this edition, the young participants are challenged to debate and propose solutions, in English, for public policy challenges. They will be divided into 18 teams of five members, who will then defend arguments for and against different ideas, thereby promoting critical reflection.
The first phase of the contest begins in January 2016, during which the teams advancing to the semifinals and finals will be selected—these will take place between February and April at the Nova SBE campus in Carcavelos.
Students from the northern part of the country will find the process easier this year, as the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto will host an initial stage for the first time.
