E-Lar received more than 6,000 applications on the first day (even with glitches)

The Ministry of Environment assured today that the E-Lar program, designed to support families in improving the thermal comfort of their homes, is now operational, having received more than six thousand applications on the first day.

The Environmental Fund’s page for program E-Lar applications started operating at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, but was unavailable or had significant disruptions throughout the day, a problem attributed by the authorities to the high influx of candidates. Prior to the opening of applications, 385,000 accesses were recorded, stated the ministry.

This morning, the Ministry of Environment and Energy confirmed that the page is functioning normally, with 6,133 applications submitted by 10:00 a.m., and another 2,273 in the process of being filled out.

The program aims to strengthen the fight against energy poverty and promote thermal comfort in underprivileged homes, encourage the replacement of old appliances with new ones that consume less, and accelerate the electrification of consumption by replacing gas appliances with electric ones.

Support can be used, for instance, to purchase electric induction and conventional cooktops, electric ovens, or electric water heaters. Applicants whose applications are approved receive a voucher to support the operation.
