An elderly woman has been found in good health after being located by a shepherd, according to Luis Azevedo, the fire chief of Mogadouro. “The elderly woman may have some cognitive condition and could have become disoriented,” he noted.
The fire chief further explained that the septuagenarian was discovered around 6:30 PM in the village of Figueirinha, not far from Travanca, the village where she resides.
The National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority’s official page noted that the operation involved 21 firefighters supported by eight vehicles, in addition to local residents and neighbors from nearby areas.
