A staff member at a daycare center in Braga was filmed slapping a toy that a girl wanted to use and grabbing (and pulling) the child’s arm. The child eventually leaves the scene before the video concludes.
The video, which has since been shared on social media, reached the institution’s management, who deemed the worker’s behavior “unacceptable.”
The incident reportedly occurred at the Centro Social da Paróquia de Ferreiros.
In an email sent to parents on Monday evening, September 29, the management of this Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS) stated that they are “seriously analyzing the situation by gathering information and listening to all parties involved.”
Despite admitting that the employee’s behavior was “inappropriate,” the management highlighted that “only after this careful assessment will appropriate decisions be made, fairly and responsibly.”
In the same communication, to which the publication had access, the school management emphasized that “the safety, well-being, and dignity” of the children “are, and always will be, the absolute priority” of the institution, which promises to have “always open doors” for parents.
Attempts were made to contact the Centro Social da Paróquia de Ferreiros for comment, but no response has been received yet.
