A 25-year-old man was detained by the Republican National Guard (GNR) last Monday, September 29, in the municipality of Covilhã, for drug trafficking.
In a statement sent to newsrooms this Wednesday, the GNR explained that during a police operation, “an individual displaying suspicious behavior was detected, leading to his approach and identification.”
The statement further revealed that “the suspect was already known for committing the crime of drug trafficking.”
“During the police procedures, a personal security search was conducted, confirming that he was in possession of narcotics,” it stated.
The GNR seized 66 doses of cannabis and 2,081 doses of MDMA.
The detainee was named a defendant, and the facts were reported to the Covilhã Judicial Court.
