A fire broke out around 10:00 a.m. on Professora Filomena Monteiro Street, prompting the precautionary evacuation of several elderly residents, although nearby apartments were not affected by the flames, according to the Porto Metropolitan Area Sub-Regional Command and PSP.
A spokesperson from the Porto Metropolitan Command of the PSP confirmed that one of the evacuated individuals was a resident of the apartment where the fire started.
The specifics of the injuries sustained and the hospitals to which victims were transported remain unknown.
The Instituto Nacional de Emergência Médica (INEM) was contacted for further details but had not responded by 12:30 p.m.
A total of 28 personnel and 13 vehicles were dispatched to the scene.
