The PSD president and Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, remains abroad in Denmark attending a meeting of the European Political Community. Today, Sebastião Bugalho, a member of the European Parliament who joined the party in 2024 and is not part of the national leadership, will substitute him in the so-called “municipal round.”
Meanwhile, the former head of the AD list for the European elections will tour the districts of Viseu and Castelo Branco. In the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, Susana Garcia, the PSD/CDS-PP/PPM/MPT/RIR coalition candidate for the Amadora City Council, will be joined by former PSD leaders Pedro Passos Coelho and Manuela Ferreira Leite for a campaign dinner.
The Secretary-General of the PS, José Luís Carneiro, has a busy schedule again, starting in the district of Évora with visits to Estremoz, a marble company in Borba, a market in Vendas Novas, and the historic center of Montemor-o-Novo, followed by a nighttime rally in Viseu.
Chega President André Ventura, who had no known initiatives during the first two days of the official campaign for the October 12 local elections, will be in the district of Évora, in Reguengos de Monsaraz and Viana do Alentejo, before heading to Portimão in the Faro district, where Chega was the most voted party in the legislative elections.
The Secretary-General of the PCP, Paulo Raimundo, will be in the districts of Leiria and Lisbon, starting the day with a train journey from Bombarral to Caldas da Rainha, visiting Odivelas and Sintra, and attending a campaign dinner.
CDS-PP President and Defense Minister Nuno Melo will campaign for his party in Mondim de Basto in the Vila Real district and in Leiria.
On the third day of the official campaign, Rui Tavares, one of the spokespeople for Livre, will be in the Lisbon district, visiting an animal collection center in Vila Franca de Xira, engaging later in a bicycle action in the capital, after passing through Setúbal.
In Castelo Branco and Figueira da Foz, in the Coimbra district, Livre’s co-spokesperson Isabel Mendes Lopes will campaign jointly with BE, their coalition partner in these municipalities. Representing BE will be leaders Fabian Figueiredo and Marisa Matias, filling in for the party coordinator, Mariana Mortágua, who embarked on an international flotilla heading to Gaza with humanitarian aid.
The IL President, Mariana Leitão, will meet with young members of the Academic Association of the University of Évora in the morning and visit the Amadora Estrela Football Club in the afternoon.
