A 14-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after falling from a height of approximately 11 meters at a residence in Buarcos, located in the municipality of Figueira da Foz, early Sunday evening.
The chief of the Figueira da Foz Volunteer Firefighters stated that the girl was on the roof when she “fell from a height of 11 meters” at her home. The incident was reported at 8:42 p.m.
The girl was transported in “serious condition” to the Pediatric Hospital of the Coimbra Hospital and University Center (CHUC).
The mother of the victim, who is 34 weeks pregnant, received assistance at the scene from a team of psychologists.
Several emergency personnel were present at the scene, including the Volunteer Firefighters and Municipal Firefighters of Figueira da Foz, the Red Cross, the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), and the Public Security Police (PSP).
