José Pires dos Reis, a national council member of the CDS-PP party, passed away this morning in a Lisbon hospital where he was admitted due to illness, as confirmed by a source from the CDS-PP district in Évora.
Pires dos Reis, an economist by profession, served as a municipal deputy in Mourão, elected through the PSD/CDS-PP coalition, and was the provider of the local Santa Casa da Misericórdia.
He was listed as the second candidate in this coalition for the Municipal Assembly of Mourão in the upcoming local elections on Sunday.
A source from the PSD/CDS-PP coalition’s campaign in Mourão stated that today’s scheduled campaign activities have been canceled.
The president of CDS-PP, Nuno Melo, expressed his condolences to the family through a post on social media, mourning the loss of Pires dos Reis.
