
In the period from September 23 to October 12, 2025, a total of 517,215 individuals received the seasonal booster against COVID-19, while 872,419 were vaccinated against the flu, as reported in the third weekly vaccination report.
Last week, 211,178 people were vaccinated against COVID-19, with 106,231 receiving their vaccines at pharmacies and 104,858 through the National Health Service (SNS).
In the past seven days, 355,018 individuals were vaccinated against the flu, with 178,945 receiving their shots at pharmacies and 175,740 through the SNS.
According to data from the Directorate-General of Health (DGS), as of last Sunday, 91,167 people over the age of 85 had been vaccinated against COVID-19, with a vaccine coverage rate of 26.68%. In this age group, 127,749 flu vaccines were administered, achieving a coverage rate of 37.39%.
The age group with the highest vaccination rates so far is those between 70 and 79 years, with 298,877 individuals receiving the flu vaccine (29.37% coverage) and 183,760 receiving the COVID-19 vaccine (18.05%).
The Seasonal Autumn-Winter 2025-2026 vaccination campaign runs until April 30, 2026, across SNS health units and 2,500 community pharmacies. The DGS aims to vaccinate approximately 2.5 million people against the flu and 1.5 million against COVID-19.
Under the slogan “Get vaccinated and protect the most important moments,” this year’s seasonal campaign, which commenced on September 23, introduces free flu vaccinations for all children aged 6 to 23 months and subsidized vaccinations for those aged 2 to 5 years.
The DGS recommends vaccination against the flu and COVID-19 for those over 60, chronically ill individuals of all ages, and healthcare professionals, emphasizing the importance of immunization against these viruses.
