A source from the Central Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command stated that traffic on that road was halted at around 19:45 in both directions near Montemor-o-Novo, in the Évora district, due to a collision involving two light goods vehicles.
The GNR reported that the accident occurred at kilometer 78 of the EN4, with traffic resuming in both directions at 23:29.
The incident was alerted at 19:45, according to the sub-regional command, noting that one of the injured was transported to Évora Hospital and the other to São José Hospital in Lisbon.
It was confirmed that one of the vehicles carried gas bottles, which remained undamaged.
Deployed to the scene were 37 operatives from the fire department, National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), Infraestruturas de Portugal, and GNR, supported by 15 vehicles, including two emergency medical and resuscitation vehicles (VMER).
