An American tourist was fatally stabbed early Wednesday in Cascais during a robbery, according to the Police of Public Security (PSP), as informed to Notícias ao Minuto.
Another American man accompanying the victim was also injured, sustaining “deep cuts on the face” and a wound on the arm.
The Lisbon Command for Relief Operations (CDOS) informed Notícias ao Minuto that the injured tourist was transported with “minor injuries” to Hospital de Santa Maria in Lisbon.
The suspects, three men, fled the scene on Rua Afonso Sanches and remain at large.
The PSP has taken charge of the investigation and communicated the findings to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and informed the Judicial Police (PJ).
The crime alert was received at 3:23 am. More than a dozen personnel from the Cascais and Estoril Fire Departments, INEM, and PSP were present at the scene.
