A team from the Cavalry Regiment No. 6 (RC6) is celebrating after excelling in the demanding international competition Tuy-Santiago 2025, organized by the Spanish Army, securing 1st place in the Topographic Course and 3rd place overall.
“With a course of approximately 120 km on foot, equipped with full weaponry and under a time limit, the soldiers faced five military challenges: Timed Course, 500m International Track, Precision Shooting, Topographic Course, and Grenade Throwing,” highlights the Portuguese Army in a social media message, adding that “the consistent performance of the RC6 team demonstrated the excellent preparation, cohesion, and resilience of its soldiers”.
The organization notes that “this was the first time a foreign team took the podium and also the first time a team with a female soldier completing the 120 km finished in the top three”.
The statement continued: “This Course, connecting Tuy to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, is a test of physical and mental endurance, which year after year establishes itself as a benchmark event in military training. Inspired by the values of camaraderie, sacrifice, and overcoming challenges, it continues to attract teams seeking to push their limits on a demanding and symbolically significant route.”
