Two young men, aged 19 and 23, were arrested last Friday, October 10, caught in the act for suspected theft and vehicle use in Matosinhos.
In a statement released to newsrooms this Wednesday, the National Republican Guard (GNR) explained that the arrests occurred “during a community policing operation,” where officers “spotted two suspects riding a motorcycle without helmets.”
During the police actions, “the suspects were intercepted and identified,” and authorities determined that the motorcycle “had been stolen,” leading to the arrest of the two young men.
The seized motorcycle was returned to its rightful owner, while the detainees were named as defendants and the case referred to the Judicial Court of Matosinhos.
