Inflation in Spain in September rises to 3%

The INE had previously estimated an inflation rate of 2.9% in September, but today revealed it stood at 3%.

The year-on-year inflation rate (the increase in prices compared to the same period last year) in Spain rose by three-tenths in September, after remaining at 2.7% in July and August.

This increase in prices in September was mainly due to fuels and electricity, which decreased but less than in the same month of 2024, according to the INE.

As for the core inflation rate (excluding energy and fresh food products, traditionally the most volatile in the consumer basket), it remained at 2.4% in September.

In a month-on-month comparison (comparison with the previous month), prices in Spain dropped by 0.3% in September.
