A man was shot in the abdomen in an attempted homicide that occurred today inside the Cova da Moura neighborhood at 2:45 a.m. The victim was transported to the Hospital de Santa Maria, Lisbon, after being assisted on-site by a Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) and was considered to be in serious condition.
Police confirmed finding bullet casings on the ground when officers arrived at the scene.
In a separate incident reported at 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, a man was shot in the chest on the Estrada Militar. He was treated at the scene before being taken to Fernando da Fonseca Hospital, where he is in serious condition.
At 11:50 p.m., a 23-year-old man also arrived at Hospital Amadora-Sintra with gunshot wounds to his legs and right arm. Police have not confirmed if this incident is related to the attempted homicide on Estrada Militar.
Both attempted homicides have been reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Judicial Police, who are responsible for investigating such crimes.
