“As of November 1, 2025, Alexander Frech will officially assume the role of CEO of Aldi Portugal, succeeding Wolfgang Graff, who will step down at the end of the year,” the group stated.
The group noted that Alexander Frech brings “extensive experience both nationally and in the ‘discount’ segment,” ensuring that with this transition, the group “reinforces its commitment to sustainable growth and the Portuguese market.”
“The leadership transition occurs at a symbolic time for the brand, which in 2026 marks 20 years of presence in Portugal—an achievement that consolidates the path of sustainable expansion and the relationship of trust with Portuguese consumers,” they emphasized.
Currently, Aldi has more than 150 stores across the country.
