A 27-year-old man, charged with the crime of rape, will remain in preventive detention after appearing for the initial judicial interrogation.
A statement published on the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) website indicates that “it is strongly indicated that the defendant, exploiting his physical superiority, forced the victim into sexual relations, ignoring her verbal and physical resistance.”
“Following the judicial interrogation conducted on October 15, the accused was subjected to the coercive measure of preventive detention.”
Man Raped “Childhood Friend”
The crime took place last Friday, October 10, during a meeting at the house of an acquaintance, where the 24-year-old victim “was coerced into significant sexual acts under violence and grave threat.”
The young woman, “despite struggling,” ultimately “succumbed to the assailant’s physical superiority.”
According to the PJ statement, the victim decided to formally file a complaint with the Public Security Police (PSP), which “immediately contacted the PJ, as it is a crime under this police’s reserved competence.”
The crime occurred last Friday in a residence in Amadora, where the victim, a “childhood friend” of the suspect, “was coerced into significant sexual acts under violence and grave threat.”
