A 52-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with a fraud case in the municipality, following investigations by the Criminal Investigation Unit of Alenquer, which led to his identification and interception.
“During the operation, it was established that the individual targeted particularly vulnerable victims, due to their age, posing as an employee of a company, enticing them to purchase various counterfeit goods, making them believe these were original brand products, to which he attributed a market value significantly higher than the actual one,” stated the GNR.
Following the operation, a vehicle search was conducted, resulting in the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of various items, including 22 boxes of perfumes, 10 watches, 10 pieces of clothing, and 110 euros in cash.
The detainee was named a defendant and the facts were communicated to the Judicial Court of Alenquer.
