The operation, expected to conclude by the end of today, was initiated by the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police through the Criminal Investigation Division, with support from various PSP units.
“So far, we highlight the seizure of several tons of hashish, various firearms, the arrest of several suspects, the seizure of hundreds of thousands of euros in cash, speedboats with their respective engines, and motor vehicles,” a PSP source stated to Lusa news agency.
The detainees will appear for their first judicial interrogation on Monday for the imposition of coercive measures.
Once the police proceedings are concluded and coercive measures are applied by the judicial authority, the PSP will present the operation’s results to the media at a press conference.
