In his role, the president of the Assembly of the Republic has deemed a culture of tolerance and civility in political debate essential, calling for efforts toward consensus on matters classified as of national interest.
Another focus of his actions has been the goal of opening the parliament to citizens and “bringing” the Assembly of the Republic to all corners of the national territory through various initiatives such as the “Closer Parliament,” where Aguiar-Branco visits a district accompanied by deputies from that electoral circle.
