The fire was brought under control at 7:40 a.m., as confirmed by a source from the Beiras and Serra da Estrela Sub-Regional Command to Lusa.
The blaze, which was reported at 5 a.m. today, erupted in an abandoned building within the Health Park near the old Sousa Martins sanatorium. It did not spread or pose a threat to the Hospital.
At 8 a.m., there were 42 operators on site, supported by 14 vehicles.
