The Socialist Party (PS) emerged as the leading political force with 35.84% of the votes, followed by the PCP-PEV (CDU) with 32.73%, and the Movement of Citizens of the Municipality of Monforte, which garnered 19.64%.
Socialist candidate Miguel Alexandre Ferreira Rasquinho has been elected president of the Monforte Municipal Council, succeeding the communist Gonçalo Lagem. Lagem had completed three terms and was ineligible for re-election due to term limits imposed by law.
