An 18-year-old man went to the PSP station in Leiria today at around 5:30 a.m., stating he had been shot moments earlier at a nightclub in the city center, according to a press release from the District Command.
The statement mentioned that the youth had a wound in the lumbar area, “with a projectile appearing to be lodged inside his body.”
Simultaneously, another man with stab wounds was at the Leiria Fire Department Headquarters, “having also been determined to have been involved in the same incident” near the nightclub, stated the PSP.
The PSP went to the scene where the assaults allegedly took place and found “two shot casings,” and also collected video surveillance footage.
The injured young man was subsequently taken to Hospital de Leiria for assistance, it was added.
The case is now under the jurisdiction of the PJ, which is conducting the investigation.
