Three teenagers, aged between 16 and 18, were apprehended by authorities in Leiria on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 8, after allegedly robbing a 19-year-old in Pombal.
The Public Security Police (PSP) stated in a communiqué that the incident began around 12 p.m. at the Pombal bus terminal. Following the robbery, the victim reported it to the authorities.
The young man was reportedly approached by the trio at this location. One of the suspects intimidated him with a “possible edged weapon,” coercing him into handing over a jacket and a shoulder bag containing items worth approximately 325 euros.
The suspects subsequently fled by boarding a bus heading to Leiria.
The PSP highlighted that “through swift communication and coordination between the Pombal and Leiria police stations,” the suspects were located at the Leiria bus terminal, where the stolen items were recovered.
Investigative proceedings are now underway to ascertain all the facts.
