On the early hours of Sunday, October 26, in mainland Portugal and the Autonomous Region of Madeira, clocks are set to be turned back by 60 minutes at 02:00, changing to 01:00.
In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, the clocks will be adjusted at 01:00 on Sunday, changing to 00:00.
The standard time will change again on March 29, 2026, reverting to summer time.
The current system of time change is regulated by a European community directive from 2000, which mandates that every year the clocks are moved forward and back by one hour on the last Sunday of March and the last Sunday of October, marking the beginning and end of summer time.
