During a visit to the Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão in Felgueiras, at the PS parliamentary days, José Luís Carneiro announced a resolution to establish a mission unit aimed at implementing a pilot project for the first territorial development contract in the Tâmega and Sousa region.
He expressed satisfaction with the Infrastructure Minister’s initiative, mirroring the PS Secretary-General’s journey along EN2. Carneiro challenged the government to emulate his initiative, regardless of the name it might adopt, as it is a political proposal to tailor public policies to territorial needs.
The PS leader’s ambition is for these territories to enjoy improved living conditions.
At the end of August, Carneiro traveled along the Estrada Nacional 2 (EN2) under the theme “listen and give voice to Portugal,” advocating for territorial development contracts to enhance local resources and eliminate development obstacles and asymmetries.
This week, Minister Pinto Luz will undertake the same road, albeit in the opposite direction taken by the PS leader, to conduct an infrastructure analysis of the regions.
