
Pingo Doce announced on Monday the opening of a new store in Monte de Caparica, the sixth in the municipality of Almada, creating “around 60 jobs.” Spanning 1,416 square meters, the new store is located on Rua dos Trabalhadores Rurais.
“The opening of the Pingo Doce Monte de Caparica reinforces the expansion and remodeling plan of Pingo Doce, which is implementing a store concept centered on Ready Meals, Fresh Produce, and Service, features that differentiate the brand,” reads a statement sent to Notícias ao Minuto.
Upon entering the store, the brand explains, “customers will find the Comida Fresca restaurant with 76 indoor seats and 36 on the terrace; self-service cafeteria and bakery, with hot bread throughout the day and a wide range of fresh products, including modern Butcher and Fish sections, with personalized service and digital product information screens.”
“The new store features 11 self-checkout stations for a more autonomous shopping experience,” it is stated.
The brand reveals that “the Comida Fresca restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, traditionally prepared with the freshest ingredients, available for dining in, ordering, or taking home with convenience.”
“From traditional dishes like Duck Rice, codfish cakes, or roasted chicken, to vegetarian options, the restaurant offers menus for all tastes that can be checked daily on sitecomidafresca.pingodoce.pt,” the statement continues.
Additionally, “the new store also addresses increased environmental concerns and presents alternatives for a more sustainable shopping experience, such as reusable bags and trolleys, and an ECO filtered water refill station, an innovative and exclusive service of Pingo Doce, more sustainable and economical, contributing to the reduction of disposable plastic use. Customers can also bring their own packaging and boxes for use in the Deli or Take Away, for instance.”
According to Pingo Doce, “to reduce energy and water consumption and reinforce the commitment to sustainability, the new store is equipped with LED lights, skylights, motion sensors for interior lighting, and a twilight/timer sensor for exterior lighting; heat recovery systems; energy management and control systems; cooling systems with speed variators and efficient taps.”
“The store is located on Rua dos Trabalhadores Rurais and is open every day from 08:00 to 21:30, with 88 parking spaces available,” it is also mentioned.
The brand assures that, “as part of Pingo Doce’s social responsibility policy, the Monte de Caparica store will support the local community by donating food to social solidarity institutions, such as Refood and the Arcelina Victor dos Santos Foundation, which support over 500 people in the municipality.”
