The daughter of José Manuel Anes, former president of the Observatory on Security, Organized Crime, and Terrorism (OSCOT), is to remain in preventive detention and will be taken to a prison hospital.
The information was confirmed to Lusa by a source from the Polícia Judiciária (PJ).
The same source indicated that the defendant has been heard today in her first judicial interrogation, during which a criminal investigation judge applied the most severe coercive measure and her admission to the São João de Deus Prison Hospital in Caxias.
It should be noted that José Manuel Anes was allegedly stabbed by his daughter on Monday.
“At 1:54 PM, a patrol car from the 1st Division of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP was dispatched to Rua Quirino da Fonseca in Lisbon, due to reports of assaults allegedly by a daughter against her own father,” the PSP stated in a communication on that day.
A witness to the incident informed authorities that they saw a woman, “allegedly a family member of the victim,” leaving the house and, “fearing for the man’s physical integrity,” the witness entered the residence.
They found “an 81-year-old man lying on the ground, covered in blood.” According to the PSP, the witness was “aware of the history of domestic violence” between the victim and the alleged aggressor.
“The victim had several wounds and lacerations on the abdomen, hands, and legs, apparently caused by a sharp object. There were also bruises on his eyes caused by the suspect’s fingers,” stated the PSP.

The former president of the Observatory on Security, Organized Crime, and Terrorism was admitted in a serious condition to São José Hospital, suffering from multiple stab wounds. The 81-year-old man’s condition remains reserved due to a brain hematoma.
