Two teenagers, ages 15 and 16, have been arrested for stealing mobile phones from minors.
The crime occurred on October 20 at approximately 10:15 PM in the Campo de Ourique parish, according to the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of PSP (COMETLIS).
The victims, both minors, reported the incident in person at the police station shortly after the robbery, stating that “under threat, their mobile phones were taken.”
“They also clearly indicated the characteristics of the individuals [who robbed them] and the direction in which they fled with the phones,” stated the PSP.
The officers immediately communicated with field units, and “within minutes, the suspects were located, intercepted, and detained.”
In possession of the two youths were the stolen phones belonging to the victims.
The PSP further disclosed that the 16-year-old detainee was taken to COMETLIS detention facilities “to be presented for a preliminary judicial interrogation.”
The other suspect, also 16, was handed over to his mother, “who was notified to present him at the Family and Minors Court in their area of residence.”
