The artist Bordalo II has once again voiced criticism against society and its leaders, this time extending beyond borders with an installation in Washington, United States.
On social media, the artist presented the piece positioned right in front of the White House, the official residence of the U.S. President, Donald Trump.
A sign was affixed to a van, reading “Governmental Advisory. Explicit Content” in both English and Portuguese.
Bordalo II’s latest work in Washington appears to critique Donald Trump’s reluctance to allow the release of the ‘Epstein Files,’ a collection of official documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the American millionaire convicted of sex crimes and child trafficking, who was found dead in prison in 2019.
The most significant documents include testimonies, transcripts, and evidence collected in the judicial proceedings against Epstein and his former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking.
The documents further contain lists of names mentioned during the proceedings, including witnesses, accomplices, and potential victims, records from Epstein’s private jet flights, and material seized from his properties.
The connection between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein continues to attract media and political attention. During the 1990s, the two moved in the same social circles in New York and Palm Beach, with images showing Epstein visiting Mar-a-Lago, a luxury resort owned by the U.S. President.
In 2002, Trump praised Epstein, noting a shared appreciation for young women. “He likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side,” Trump commented in an interview with New York Magazine.
Their relationship deteriorated around 2004, with Trump asserting that he severed ties completely, stating in 2019 that he was “not a fan of him” and had not spoken to Epstein in many years.
