
The artwork, titled ‘Buste de femme au chapeau à fleurs’ (Bust of Woman with a Flower Hat, in a free translation), depicts the photographer and muse of the surrealist movement who was Picasso’s companion for nearly a decade.
The auction house indicated that the painting was purchased by an international buyer present in the room.
This piece was created during the German occupation of Paris and is considered one of the most striking representations of Dora Maar, a key figure in the life and work of the Spanish artist.
