In Cabreiro (Arcos de Valdevez, Viana do Castelo district) and Arcas (Macedo de Cavaleiros, Bragança district), voting is being repeated for the Parish Assembly, which ended in a tie with 120 and 100 votes, respectively.
In the case of the parish of Lara, in the municipality of Monção, Viana do Castelo district, the repetition concerns all three municipal bodies, and for the Chamber’s election, the result may not confirm the election of a sixth executive member for PSD.
On October 12, in the Monção Chamber election, the PSD elected six councilors with 66.47% of the vote, and the PS one with 22.14%, but the new voting in the Lara parish might alter this outcome, as explained by the PSD candidate, elected president António Barbosa.
In that parish, with 269 registered voters, 181 people cast their votes. The PSD’s Chamber candidacy received 122 votes (67.40%), while the PS received 43 votes (23.76%).
For the Lara Parish Assembly, the October 12 voting resulted in a tie of 85 votes each between the PSD and the movement Juntos Por Lara, each receiving 49.96% of the votes.
In Cabreiro, Arcos de Valdevez, the 406 registered voters are casting their votes again after a tie of 120 votes (47.62%) between the PSD and the movement Todos Por Cabreiro in the Parish Assembly election.
The PSD won the elections in the municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, with 58.67% of the votes and five councilors, while the PS came second with 23.91% and two councilors.
In Arcas, Macedo de Cavaleiros, the PS candidate, Ana Martins, and the PSD/CDS-PP candidate, Mickael Silva, both received 100 votes (48.54%), leading 338 registered voters to a new Parish Assembly election.
In the municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros, the PSD/CDS-PP coalition elected four councilors with 49.43% of the votes and the PS three with 44.52%.
The polling stations open at 8 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
