
A student from a school in Arcos de Valdevez sustained minor injuries after being struck by an oven door, during a class on Wednesday.
The 17-year-old was in a cooking class when she was “hit by the oven door following a small gas explosion in a stove,” as reported by a source from the Alto Minho Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
The source added that “the door detached and hit the student on the knee,” causing minor injuries.
The student was taken to the Viana do Castelo Hospital.
The alarm was raised at 11:53 a.m., with seven operatives from the Arcos de Valdevez Fire Department attending the scene, supported by two vehicles.
