According to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), a yellow weather warning is in effect for the islands of São Miguel and Santa Maria (Eastern group) from 12:00 today until 00:00 on Tuesday.
In the Central group, the IPMA issued a warning from 12:00 today until 09:00 on Monday.
The yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued whenever there is a risk to certain activities dependent on meteorological conditions.
On Saturday, four homes were flooded in the Azores, including two in the village of Água de Pau, where 10 vehicles were swept away due to the overflowing of a stream, according to the municipality president, Vanessa Silva.
The Regional Service of Civil Protection and Firefighters of the Azores (SRPCBA) has updated the number of incidents to 32 on the island of São Miguel, following adverse weather conditions.
