Medical response course improves the performance of healthcare professionals

Mónica Seidi emphasized the importance of the course, stating that such initiatives “enable simulations that closely resemble reality and empower professionals, both in health and other sectors,” to “provide increasingly effective responses.”

The Health Minister, in a press release, noted that the course “is not solely directed at health professionals” but also encompasses individuals from various intervention areas, including firefighters, emergency technicians, doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and civil protection agents.

It is also intended for military and security forces, judicial police, communications advisors, journalists, as well as all professionals with management responsibilities, command, and control in Integrated Medical Emergency Systems.

According to Mónica Seidi, “it is essential to continue training all entities directly involved in situations like these, all professionals from the Regional Health Directorate, Civil Protection, and Firefighters, to ensure increasingly effective responses to situations that may result in fatalities.”

This year’s course edition had 130 registrants and was organized in partnership with the Azores Government, including Praia da Vitória Professional School, Praia da Vitória City Council, and Praia da Vitória Volunteer Firefighters Humanitarian Association.
