A 49-year-old man of French nationality was found unconscious in the surf zone by popular people in Praia de Vale do Lobo, Loulé, this Sunday afternoon. The individual was still resuscitated by the lifeguard team, but did not resist and eventually died.
The bather was found unconscious in the surf zone of Praia de Vale do Lobo by people who alerted the bathing surveillance team of the municipality of Loulé. The victim was in cardiac arrest and basic life support maneuvers were quickly initiated with an automatic external defibrillator.

The accident occurred in an unguarded area, where surveillance is ensured by the Bathing Safety Team of the Municipality of Loulé, managed by AllRescue – Associação da Nadadores Salvadores, which has a 4×4 Motorcycle to assist bathers, manned by lifeguards with the training of ambulance crew, equipped with AED, oxygen, first aid bag and water rescue equipment.
