In a statement, the security force announced that three individuals were placed in preventive custody, specifically a 20-year-old woman and two men aged 18 and 19.
The notice further stated that the other three men, aged 20, 21, and 38, were prohibited from contacting individuals involved in drug trafficking. They were also required to report twice a week to their local police station, undergo addiction screening and treatment, if necessary, and were banned from acquiring or possessing weapons.
On Wednesday, the GNR reported that five men and a woman had been arrested the previous day for drug trafficking and possession of illegal weapons in the municipality of Olhão.
In an ongoing drug trafficking investigation that had been underway for about eight months, the military personnel executed 13 search warrants, including 11 residential searches and two vehicle searches, in the parishes of Quelfes and Olhão.
During the operation, the GNR seized 445 doses of cocaine, 381 doses of hashish, two doses of marijuana, 26.15 grams of cannabis heads, five nitrous oxide canisters, and five digital scales.
They also confiscated two shotguns, a firearm replica, a revolver, a handmade pistol, a pistol, two air guns, an air rifle, 84 rounds of various calibers ammunition, a hand grenade casing, an expandable baton, two balaclavas, and an axe.
Additionally, the GNR seized a watch, four electric scooters, two LCD televisions, a speaker, three video game consoles, various clothing and perfumes, two safes, 17 mobile phones, and €37,224.
