A warning of orange level has been issued by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) for maritime agitation with northern waves affecting the Flores and Corvo islands (Western group), effective until 6:00 PM (7:00 PM in Lisbon).
Additionally, the same group faces a yellow warning for maritime agitation with northern waves until noon, and another yellow warning for precipitation until 6:00 PM on Monday.
Flores and Corvo will also experience strong winds shifting from the southwest to northwest directions until 6:00 PM, under a yellow warning from IPMA.
In the Eastern group (São Miguel and Santa Maria), a yellow warning for precipitation is in effect until 9:00 PM on Monday, with a warning for wind from 9:00 AM on Monday until midnight on Tuesday.
The Central group islands of Faial, Pico, São Jorge, Terceira, and Graciosa have yellow warnings issued for maritime agitation (until 6:00 PM Monday), precipitation (until 6:00 PM Monday), and wind, effective until 9:00 PM Monday.
The yellow warning, the lowest in a three-level scale, indicates a moderate risk or “potential danger” due to weather conditions such as heavy rain, winds, or other phenomena that may cause disruptions, but with low to moderate probability of significant damage.
