The Polícia Judiciária (PJ) has detained an inmate from the Guarda Prison with nearly 400 doses of drugs within his body, the authority announced in a statement on Thursday.
According to inspectors, the inmate was returning from temporary leave when he was caught with the drugs. Inside his body, the man had approximately 215 doses of cocaine, 105 doses of heroin, and 50 doses of hashish pollen.
The seized narcotics, which represent a significant quantity, were intended, according to the PJ, to “supply inmates serving sentences” at the prison in question.
The detainee will now be presented to the Central Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DIAP) of Guarda.
